Founded in 1984 as Christian Day Care Center, SCP is a partner ministry of West Side Christian Church. Many things have changed over our history, but our commitment to providing a Christ-centered, love-motivated and well-structured environment for young children remains. At SCP, we recognize that decisions about the care and education of your child are among the most important choices you will make during their early years. Much more than a typical childcare provider, SCP strives to offer a Christ-centered, joyful and purposeful learning environment where students are uniquely known and loved. Our team promotes spiritual, social, physical, and academic development of children age 2 through 5 with the ultimate goal of helping children develop to their fullest potential.
Our team is made up of teachers who love what they do and strive for excellence daily. Our team has over 200 years of combined early childhood experience and many of those years have been spent here at SCP. SCP teachers participate in additional early childhood training each year. To help us protect the health and safety of our students, all SCP team members are certified in first aid, CPR and food safety.
Springfield Christian Preschool’s 6,500 square foot facility has been renovated and designed specifically for young children. Our secure site requires all visitors to be seen and buzzed in at the front door and we use a mobile app so you can see when your child has been checked in and out each day. A large motor room and expansive playground are available to enhance physical health and development.
Our goal at Springfield Christian Preschool is to provide students with classroom instruction and exploration that are developmentally appropriate, engaging and effective. We utilize research-based early learning standards and benchmarks along with best-practice early childhood strategies to ensure that we have created relationships, environments and activities that help children to truly thrive.
